This month, we have chosen the spicy and savory Austin Hope Cabernet for our October wine of the month. This Cab is booming with fruitful flavors on the palate. It’s full-bodied and rich, balanced by a touch of bright acidity and firm polished tannins. This wine has also won the Best Cabernet by Paso Robles, so you know it’s a real winner.
About the Vineyard
The Hope Family Wines started off with Austin Hope. He grew up working alongside his father, inheriting his love and respect for the region. In 1995, he led the family’s move into winemaking. In 2000, Austin created the Austin Hope label, making very small productions of Rhône varietals. After years of fine-tuning his craft, Austin finally felt that he had created something that encapsulated the elements of Paso Robles. In 2017, Austin released a Cabernet Sauvignon under his Austin Hope label. Little did he know that his wine would become a big hit and win awards for the fantastic tase. Today, Austin’s obsession has evolved to showcase an even greater sweep of Paso Robles, expressing a life dedicated to growing grapes and making Paso wines. Nothing makes Austin more proud than crafting a wine that captures the inspiring essence of Paso Robles.
Why we chose this wine
The Vino team was able to experience this wine when we went to a SOMM Journal event. The affair featured 15+ winery owners from Paso Robles, including the Hope Family Wines. The Austin Hope Cabernet tasted amazing and was a no-brainer for our next wine of the month.
