2018 The Calling Pinot Noir – Russian River
Bing cherry, strawberry, and dried orange peel on the nose. The palate is supple, smooth, silky, and driven by red fruits with notes of fresh wild raspberries and red plum. Overall this wine is bright, fresh, clean, and has a lingering, fruit-forward finish.
Produced by Jim Nantz and Peter Deutch, this amazing Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a true winner.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Jim Nantz, famed CBS sports commentator, and Peter Deutsch, founder and CEO of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, met by chance at a restaurant in Greenwich, Connecticut in 2009. Peter had recently read Jim’s book about his father, Always By My Side, and it resonated with him, reminding him of his own relationship with his father. Ironically, Jim was at the restaurant having dinner with a friend who had contacts in the wine industry, as Jim was exploring steps to get involved in the wine business. Peter stopped by the table to introduce himself. The two men had independently dreamed of finding the ideal site to establish their own premium wine brand and their meeting presented the perfect opportunity to pursue their dream together.
Seven years later, The Calling wines are now quality standards for the Sonoma region with more than 40 90+ ratings since the first vintage in 2012. Each region and vineyard site were chosen carefully for the vines that were planted and the style of wine produced. These wines are a true testament to the greatness that is possible when you follow your calling in life.
