About the Winery
The historic Ormanni estate is under family ownership since 1818, when Vincenzo Brini took possession of the land. The notary Giovacchino Bacci in Florence made the formal purchase order in January 1819. As with local tradition, Ormanni continued a whole crop: wine, oil, cereals, firewood and alcohol (from corbezzole). In 1924 a consortium was established for the defense of the typical Chianti wine, to which the estate adheres under the guide of Vincenzo Brini and his nephew Francesco, father of the current owner Ing. Paolo Brini. Ever since the early sixties, the modern vision of the company has led to a gradual abandonment of mixed and promiscuous crops to go to specialized vineyards and olive groves, and the contemporaneous abandonment of ‘halftone’ forms for more effective direct management. The Ormanni estate offers the finest Chianti, Chianti Classics and Riserva, appreciated by the enthusiasts and also pleasurable for the neophytes.
