2020 Souleil Vin de Bonte Rouge
Ruby red, Le Rouge is as flavor-packed and generous on the nose as on the palate. Pronounced aromas of ripe blackberries and sun-baked Mediterranean herbs lead to a palate laden with punchy flavors of dark cherry, pomegranate, garrigue, orange peel, and a touch of sweet spice. We recommend enjoying this wine slightly chilled.
Souleil’s story starts in a sun-drenched #wine region of southern France along the #Mediterranean Sea, where founders Marianne and Thomas grew up surfing and shucking oysters. In thinking about what kind of wine they love to drink, they knew it had to be fresh and elegant. In France, apéritif takes place before lunch or dinner — and sometimes becomes it. The main ingredient is a good glass of something delicious to help whet your appetite. Souleil already covers half the equation. Now comes the part that’s equally as fun: the food! While you can certainly sip this wine on its own, why not see how the notes get even brighter with the addition of brined olives or sun-dried tomatoes and a piece of freshly toasted baguette?
